Every day you wake up and pick up your smartphone. Maybe this is the beginning of a new era called the «metaverse»❓

With the explosive growth of interest in NFTs in the blockchain ecosystem and the rebranding of Facebook as «Meta», the metaverse has entered the mainstream public consciousness.

The first concept of the metaverse appeared in 1992 in the science fiction novel «Snow Crash» by Neal Stevenson to refer to a universal 3D virtual world that mimics, augments, enhances, and connects to physical reality.

👉The purpose of the universe is a mixture of virtual and augmented reality.

Pandemic had a great influence on the interest in the idea of a meta universe. The demand for remote work and online entertainment has grown against the background of the lockdown.

Globalization will sooner or later lead us to immersion in digital reality, therefore Mark Zuckerberg only accelerated the process to take the market first, as Elon Musk did in his time.

Microsoft also announced the creation of its metaverse and decided to start by changing the traditional office life based on its Azure cloud technology.

The American game studio Epic Games calls its online game Fortnite the basis for the metaverse. In April, the company generated $1 billion in funding for the long-term development of the metaverse.

In addition, we can already see several examples of real agreements with virtual assets. For example, an item of land on The Sandbox platform was sold for $57,171, which is far from the largest amount.

👉The goal of the metaverse is to unite the physical and digital worlds, while different assets can be used on different platforms.
